The Department of English is a vibrant academic unit that fosters a deep appreciation for literature, language, and cultural studies. The Department was established in the year 1991. Our mission is to equip students with critical thinking, creative expression, and effective communication skills.

The Department of Education of Pranab College is a beehive of academic activities from its inception in 1991. The Department offers B.A-EDN both for Major and Minor course. The curriculum is based on the NEP system as prescribed by Nagaland University. The members of the faculty keep in constant touch with the latest developments in the field of education as visualized by various Education Commissions and National Polices on Education, in order to face with confidence the challenges of education in the dynamic technological world and became a global centre of excellence. The course offers a rich variety of subjects taught by a wide range of teachers. It gives a student new skills and knowledge to develop and enhance his/her career. Different types of skills related to job can be nurtured within the students through learning by doing, field engagement and presentation activities. Skills of counselling are also developed through this program.

The Department of Economics is a vibrant academic unit that focuses on the study of economic theories, principles, and applications. It aims to understand how resources are produced, distributed and consumed in society and to analyse various economic phenomena at both micro and macro levels. The department offers minor course to the students. The department provides students with a strong foundation in economic thought, preparing them to address real - world economic challenges.

The Department of Sociology was established in the year 2004 with a permanent affiliation to Nagaland University attained on 12th Sept., 2017. Initially it was started as a General paper for the Undergraduate course. It was upgraded as an Honours Course for the undergraduate level in the year 2011. Aligning with the standards of higher education, the Department has introduced Post graduate Course in the year 2021.

The Department of Commerce was established in 2010 and has imbibed the tradition of exploring new frontiers of knowledge and innovation in academics. Since then the department is putting efforts in redefining the commerce education and has been providing quality education to the undergraduate students. The department thrive for quality education therefore has qualified and experienced faculty members who have track record of distinct accomplishment and are engaged in continuing education for upskilling themselves. To create a student centric teaching-learning environment our faculties are engaged in outcome-based approaches and classes are converted into smart/IT enabled classrooms. The rapid growth of the Department of Commerce is reflected in its expansion as well as novelty in its academic programmes.
